Today, in terror, I realized that I’ve never properly backed up my early work (almost, honestly almost, wrote ‘juvenilia’ there, which would have been so shameful). Haven’t even looked at it since leaving school ten or so years ago. Fortunately it’s mostly junk, which is reassuring. Who wants to revisit their younger selves only to find potential left unclaimed?

I did find these comics, though, which is just what I was hunting for in the first place. After months of living without any income in Sydney, Australia (“Come to Sydney!” said my host, “Plenty of work for Americans in Sydney!”), I begged the internet to pay me for drawings. The internet came through, as the internet always comes through, and I spent my days at the desk instead of on the beach.
